ただよう【漂う】

1 〔漂流する〕 drift (about); be adrift; float; 〔浮いて揺れ動く〕 (海上に) be adrift; be tossed about 《by the waves》; bob on the surface (of the sea); (空中に) float in the sky; waft in [through] the air.

●波に漂う小舟 a small [light] boat adrift [bobbing along] on the waves.

●救命ボートで 1 週間海を漂った. We drifted at sea in the lifeboat for one week.
